Mumbai, December 19, 2024: Pfizer Inc (NYSE: PFE) today announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement with Bayer AG (Bayer AG) to market, sell, and sell its own erectile dysfunction drug Viagra in the United States.
Viagra is a Pfizer prescription-only drug that is the same medication as Cialis, and is the brand name for Cialis (tadalafil) and Levitra (vardenafil).

The agreement with Bayer was signed on May 14, 2023, and will provide access to the erectile dysfunction drug from Pfizer as it develops and commercializes its brand name in the United States.
In 2023, Bayer will sell its erectile dysfunction treatment Viagra, its generic version of Cialis, to the U. S. healthcare provider, Pfizer, in the same manner it markets and sells its generic version of Viagra.

As of November 2023, Viagra will be available by prescription only in the United States, and will cost approximately $1.75 per tablet, depending on dosage. The generic version is currently marketed under the brand name Cialis.
